A few years ago, Mrs, Deepa (Mobile number : (091-9488838351) suffered a fall-related injury when gathering cattle fodder from a social forest near her Alambady village in Bhuvanagiri block. The injury forced her to stop going to the social forest for fodder. Mrs Deepa ,ultimately sold the cow, which was a source of income for the family. “I began to wonder how I would sustain my family,” she says.
Shortly after, Mrs, Deepa and her husband started a small hotel in their village with a cow sold amount of Rs,40,000. Then COVID-19 came and Mrs, Deepa husband Mr, S. Mathavaraj killed by Corona Delta variant. and she ran into heavy losses. Once again, Mrs, Deepa began looking for other livelihood options. This time around, thanks to the Stichting cloverleaf foundation programme, she found a viable solution in Banana fibber training and production. With support from SWEAD, Mrs, Deepa makes nearly Rs,5000 for one month from product banana baskets and other Banana production. I have three children ‘Earlier I was very idle; Our self-help women groups selected me as a beneficiaries for SWEAD project. now I am active and hope the Banana fiber production program will help me to feed my children and educate them. Now I am freeing from the four walls of the house and also became from clutches of the moneylenders.

Goat for the poor widow
